Cast Light

Luz Arrojada

CAST LIGHT (2013-on going) is a series of photopolymer prints where the conventional figure-ground values (black and/on white) are inverted by printing negative photogravures with silver ink onto black paper, thereby enhancing the luminescence of film projection and the evanescent nature of achromatic phenomena. The staccato images of cinema's silver screen, reminiscent of early chronophotographic experiments, appear exponentially multiplied and discharged from rather than cast onto the screen. A process that graphically reifies fleeting experiences by materializing its duration.
